==Overview==

General:
* [[:Category:Requests]] – A root and heterogenous category for requests, with a wide variety of subcategories including requests for new entries per language, for cleanup, for adding headers to translation tables, for audio pronunciation, for etymology and more.

English entries to write:
* [[:Wikiv:Requested entries (English)]] – These words do not have entries yet.  You can start whole new pages.
* [[:Category:Entries missing English vernacular names of taxa]] – missing English [[taxon]] names (species and so forth) waiting to be added as entries.

Non-English entries to write or update:
* [[Wikiv:Requested entries]], [[Wiktionary:Requested entries (German)]], [[Wikiv:Requested entries (Spanish)]], [[Wikiv:Requested entries (Russian)]], [[Wikiv:Requested entries (Chinese)]], etc.
* [[:Category:Entries using missing taxonomic names]], especially [[:Category:Entries using missing taxonomic name (species)]] – missing Translingual [[taxon]] names (species and so forth) waiting to be added as entries.

Translations in "Translations" sections of English entries:
* Add translations requested in [[:Category:Requests for translations by language]].
* [[:Category: Check translations|Check translations]] – Many translations of English entries listed without a specific sense. When the English entry is completed or a specific sense is added, contributors use {{temp|ttbc}} or {{temp|checktrans-top}} to list the entry there. Please help clear some out.

Maintenance:
* [[:Category:Requests for cleanup]] – Entries that need formatting

Others:
* [[Appendix:Swadesh lists]] &mdash; Add lists of basic vocabulary in many world languages.
* Pronunciations that differ in UK and US English (and other varieties) – [[w:American and British English pronunciation differences|A list of these words]] is given in Wikipedia. Add pronunciations for these ''only if'' you are thoroughly familiar with how to transcribe UK and US pronunciation using the IPA and SAMPA pronunciation schemes.
* Wikiv terminology lists – Add terms and definitions from Wikiv's [[glossary|glossaries]] and terminology lists and [[appendix|appendices]].  One such list is in [[w:Musical terminology]].  Partial lists also reside at [[w:Category:Glossaries]] and [[w:List of glossaries]].  Many are good candidates for manual importation and editing to check the definitions and make them Wikiv-ready. We can also help both projects by flagging other Wikiv word lists with these categories as we find them.
